Jabariya Jodi (translation. Forced Couple) is an upcoming Indian Hindi-language action romantic comedy film starring Siddharth Malhotra and Parineeti Chopra. The film is based on the tradition of kidnapping the groom prevalent in Bihar. Malhotra plays the role of a Bihari thug in the film, which is co-produced by Ekta Kapoor, Shobha Kapoor and Shailesh R Singh and directed by Prashant Singh. Principal photography of the film began in Lucknow on 10 August 2018,  and it is to be released theatrically in India on 9 August 2019. 

The film was conceived by writer Sanjeev K Jha who is from Bihar and is familiar with the forced marriage practice in his native state. He was surprised to see official figures stating that in recent years there have been more kidnappings in Bihar for the purpose of more extortion than ransom. "We always knew that such forced marriages happen, but we were not aware of it," he said in a statement. It was an eye opener for him so he created a comic world and a love-story using these bizarre practices.

Filming began on 10 August 2018 in Lucknow, Barabanki and Rae Bareli. The film was wrapped in mid-April 2019.

The first look of the film was shown by Ekta Kapoor on her Twitter account on 20 August 2018. This shows Parineeti and Siddharth losing each other, but a groom is tied between them and unconscious. It also revealed what the title of the forced pair actually is.  The second teaser of the film was shared by Siddharth Malhotra announcing the release date of 17 May 2019 on 6 December 2018 on his official Instagram account. 

The new release date of 12 July 2019 was announced with the release of a new official theatrical poster on 4 March 2019. The release date on 3 June was pushed back to 2 August. On July 29, the release date was extended by a week and to August 9. 

The official trailer of the film was launched by Balaji Motion Pictures on 1 July. 

The film has been certified by the British Board of Film Classification with a time span of 139 minutes and is scheduled to be released on 7 August 2019.
